History & Biography Of Hazrat Imam Ali Ibn Hussain Zain-ul-Abidin(A.S)


Hazrat Imam Ali(A.S) Bin Hussain(A.S) was the older son of Imam Hussain(A.S) And the Grandson Of Imam Ali(A.S)and further, we can describe the history of Imam Zain-Abideen(A.S), when Imam Ali(A.S) became caliph of Muslims, the Muslims conquered the country Iran. The daughters of Yazdgard(King Of Iran) were brought to the holy city of Madina. All had gathered in the mosque Nabvi of Madina to see what was the decision of the Hazrat Imam Ali(A.S), about them. Imam Ali (A.S.) Order, "leave these two Princesses  just released them so that they marry whosoever they wish."


one Princess choosing Imam Hussain (A.S) and the other Princess chose Imam Hassan (A.S). Imam Ali (A.S) said to Imam Hussain(A.S), "Look after this woman very well, because, from her, she gave the birth of an Imam will come into existence (born) who will be the best of Allah's creations upon this earth and the father of all the Imams (after himself). Not very long after that the son of his existence arose, on Thursday, the date of (6 Jan,659AD) 5th of Shaaban, 38th Hijrah, in the holy city of Madina. Imam Ali(A.S) was named "Ali(A.S)" later on titled as Zain-ul-Abidin(A.S) (the decoration of the worshippers) and Imam 2nd title is Sajjad(A.S) (one who performs many prostrations).



Hazrat Imam Zain-ul-Abideen(A.S) In Karbala:

The Islāmic date (In 61/680, The Holy Prophet Muhammad's(PBUH) grandson Imam Hussain bin Ali(A.S) and a small group of his Holy Family and his "Sahaba" supporters and relatives were martyred at the Battle of Karbala by the large Army forces of the evil Umayyad caliph evil Yazid, to whom Imam Hussain(A.S) had refused to give an oath(not give his pure Holy hand) of allegiance. Imam Zain-ul-Abidin(A.S) accompanied his father Imam Hussain(A.S) on a march toward Country of Iraq city named Kufa. Imam Zain-ul-Abideen(A.S) was Also present at the war of Karbala but survived the battle because he was very ill. Once the evil Umayyad troops had martyred Imam Hussain(A.S) and his Ashab, they looted the tents and the evil Shemer was doing to kill Imam Zain al-Abideen(A.S) but his aunt Bibi Zainab(S.A) made evil Umar bin Saad, was the Umayyad commander, spare his life. Imam Zain al-Abideen(A.S) and the enslaved family were taken to the caliph evil Yazid; eventually, he was allowed to return to the holy city of Medina. During the Pain full journey, Imam Zain-ul-Abideen(A.S) was delivered speeches in the city of Kufa and as well as Damascus(sham) and informed the people of his father's intentions.


According to the many Islāmic books Mention Imam Zain-ul-Abideen's(A.S) deep sorrow over the massacre. It is said that for thirty-four years when Imam Zain-ul-Abideen(A.S) would weep and crying when was the food was placed before him. One day a servant said to him, my Imam (A.S) Is it not time for your sorrow to come to an end, and Imam Zain-ul-Abideen(A.S)  replied, the person you did not see what I saw in Karbala by saying this! Hazrat Yakub(A.S)(Jacob) the prophet who Of had twelve sons, and Allah made one among them disappear". His eyes turned white from constant weeping and crying, his head turned grey out of pain full and sorrow, and his back became bent within the gloom (Quran, 12:84), though his son was alive during this world. Imam Zain-ul-Abideen(A.S) said that person I saw with my own eyes while my father(Imam Hussain(A.S) and my brothers(Prince Ali Akber(R.A)Prince Ali Asgher(R.A) and my cousin(Prince Qasim(R.A) bin Imam Hassan(A.S), my uncle( Hazrat Abbas(R.A) bin Imam Ali(A.S), whole Family and seventeen members were martyred all around me in the battle of Karbala. How should my (pain full) sorrow come to an end? 

Social Status Of Hazrat Imam Zain-ul-Abideen(A.S):

Imam Zain-ul-Abideen(A.S) was most noble respected by his followers All around the World, who considered him as the fourth holy Imam, Said bin al-Musayyib, and the jurist and traditionalist Al-Zuhri though attached to the court of the Banu Umayyad were among his admirers(flowers). Al-Zuhri gave him the honorific to Imam Zain-ul-Abedeen(A.S) the ornament of worshipers and narrated many holy Hadiths about him. Evidence(proof) for his high place among the Islāmic world as well as to the people's. when was the Caliph Hisham bin Abdul al-Malik was dominate by the respects people's showing to the Imam Sajjad(A.S) It was the time of performing Hajj when both of them were trying to reaching the Black Stone better known as (the stone of Heaven) through the crowd turning around the holy Kaaba? The people gave way to Imam Zain-ul-Abedeen(A.S) while Hisham struggled desperately. This deeply offended the Hisham, who was very sarcastically asked to whom the people had shown such respect like this.   

The Humility Of Hazrat Imam Zain-ul-Abideen(A.S):

The cordiality and humility of Hazrat Imam Zain-ul-Abideen(A.S) were well-known among the residents of the Holy City of Medina. Imam Zain-ul-Abideen(A.S) used to deal with his worker's slaves and maids also in the most cordial and very gentle way. His Holy behavior with his slaves was such that strangers failed to recognize which of them were the Master and which one the slave. One day a father and son duo from the city of Khorassan came to meet the Imam Zain-ul-Abideen(A.S). When it was the time for dinner the Holy Imam Zain-ul-Abideen(A.S) moved forward to wash the hands of the guest but he said, Son Of Holy Prophet(PBUH)I will not allow this and the Imam Zain-ul-Abideen(A.S) said, to the guest “It is my duty. Why do you want me to be underprivileged of its rewards?” Thus, the Imam Zain-ul-Abideen(A.S) did not agree and at last, he washed his hands. After that, Imam Zain-ul-Abideen(A.S) ordered his son Hazrat Imam Muhammad Baqir(A.S) to wash his son's hands too.     

Worship Of Hazrat Imam Zain-ul-Abideen(A.S):

Our 4th Holy Imam, Hazrat Imam Zain-ul-Abideen (A.S) has taught us how to the doing worship of Allah (SWT) and it is for this big reason that Imam Sajjad(A.S) is Called as (Zain-ul-Abideen(A.S) meaning 'the adornment' or 'the pride of worshippers' and Sayyid al-Sajideen (Leader (Prince) of those who prostrate(doing Worship purely). Imam Zain-ul-Abideen(A.S) has taught us that when we raised to the worship Of Allah (SWT), two things most Important have to be taken into consideration(Full Focused). 1st is the Greatness of Allah (SWT), which should always be in our minds. And our hearts should be filled with His awe such that our feelings should be Baynal-Khaufi war-Rajaa (the path between hope and fear). Hope for Allah mercy and fear From Allah and his wrath.

And Also one More Interesting Thing About our Holy Imam Ali Zain-ul-Abideen (A.S) Performing twenty Hajj and every time Imam Sajjad (A.S) traveled on foot Holy to The Holy Makkah. Also, it is said that Imam Ali Zain-ul-Abideen (A.S) had a large farm of date trees. Imam Sajjad(A.S) offered two Raka'at payers besides each date tree of the Fram."              

Martyrdom Of Hazrat Imam Zain-ul-Abideen:

 Narrating from our 6th Hazrat Imam Jaffar Sadiq (A.S) saying, that Imam Ali Zain-ul-Abideen(A.S)  was martyred at the age of 58, According to some Sunni narrator of historical reports, Muhammad bin Umar al-Waqidi wrote that, he suggests that Imam Zain-ul-Abideen (A.S) was with his father Imam Hussain(A.S) in the Battle of Karbala while Imam Sajjad (A.S) was age 23 or 24 years old. Also, al-Zahri said that Imam Sajjad(A.S) was with his father while he was 23 years old. Imam Sajjad (A.S)  was martyred in (20 Oct,713, Ad)94/713 (or 95/714) with a poison given by the order of al-Walid bin Abdul al-Malik. Imam Zain-ul-Abideen(A.S) was buried in Jannat-al-Baqi' cemetery beside his uncle, Imam Hassan(A.S) in the Holy City Of Medina.
